Muzaffer Şenel is a scholar specializing in World Order, Security Studies, European studies, and comparative foreign policy, with a focus on European foreign policy toward the Middle East, international politics of Eastern Mediterranean and Black Sea region, Türkiye’s foreign policy, world order, and the Cyprus issue. Dr. Şenel taught at various universities, including İstanbul Kültür, 29 May, Ankara Medipol, Marmara, Kocaeli, and İstanbul Şehir University. He has conducted research in several countries, including the UK (Oxford University, Centre for Islamic Studies), Hungary (Teleki Lázsló Institute, now the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade), Poland (Jagiellonian University, Center for European Studies), and Armenia (American University of Armenia, Political Science and International Affairs), supported by various research grants, such as Jean Monnet, TÜBİTAK, EuroMeSCo, Black Sea House Association and the Hrant Dink Foundation. He is currently a visiting researcher at the Department of Political Science at SUNY Binghamton University. Şenel also produced a documentary series for TRT television on the foundation of Cyprus, six episode, titled "Forgotten Heritage: Foundations (Waqfs) of Cyprus." He co-edited two books: with Sadık Ünay, "Global Orders and Civilizations: Perspectives from History, Philosophy and International Relations," Nova Science Publications, New York, 2009; and with Mesut Özcan, "Modernity and World Order(s) / Modernite ve Dünya Düzen(ler)i," Küre Yayınları, Istanbul, 2010. He is a member of the Council of International Relations in Türkiye, American Political Science Association, International Studies Association, World Congress of Middle Eastern Studies (WOCMES), UCLA Center for Middle East Development (UCLA CMED), Social, Humanities and Basic Sciences Accreditation and Rating Association, Aspen Institute Romania, and Black Sea House Association.
